Information Literacy Integration into Curriculum – A Strategic Plan for MBRU

Abstract

Information literacy is a set of abilities to recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information. It is an ability to articulate one's information need, identify, locate and access appropriate sources of information to meet the information need, and to effectively use information resources, regardless of format. Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences focuses on integrating information literacy instruction into the curriculum beginning from the first year through the final year of study, gradually building on the existing knowledge base
